How do you carry?

I will go ahead and say the most comfortable way to carry for me is in a shoulder holster. Hands down it is the least intrusive and most natural way. But….. the downside of that is I need to be in a jacket. Great for church or for a nice dinner out with the wife. However, man in Texas it is way too hot to wear a jacket outside most days and sometimes I like to be a bit more casual. Ok most days if we are being honest.

Another option for me is appendix. Which is great for those slightly baggy jeans that I used to wear when I was 15 pounds heavier. I have a couple of different options there. If I have a semi-auto I will typically have that in a Kydex holster inside the waist band. I have a great belly band I like for my revolvers. Low profile, but the downside is that can get hot. Better if you are in a controlled temp environment. Also good for a fast run to the local big box store. Like when you are in your gym shorts you’ve been working in the garden in.

I also will carry at 7 o’clock sometimes with a winter heavier shirt on. That is typically an outside the waist band type carry and I usually only do that if I am running into the gas station to grab something quick.

Finally, I will sometimes throw a small subcompact into a sleeve that covers the trigger and drop into a pair of pants with some deep pockets.

There are plenty of different ways to carry on your person. no matter how you carry make sure you understand the laws in the state you are carrying in. The best way to do that is to take the LTC class or at the minimum understand the laws of Constitutional Carry because those are quite different.
